Abelmoschus moschatus is a PERENNIAL growing to 2 m by 1 m at a fast rate.
It is hardy to zone 9 and is frost tender. It is in flower from July to September, and the seeds ripen from August to October. The species is hermaphrodite and is pollinated by Insects.
Suitable for: light , medium and heavy soils and prefers well-drained soil. Suitable pH: acid, neutral and basic soils. It cannot grow in the shade. It prefers moist soil.

Open places in Nepal at elevations of 600 - 1100 metres. Flat areas
valleys
stream sides and scrub slopes in western and southern China.
