Allium cepa is an evergreen Bulb growing to 0.6 m .
It is hardy to zone 5 and is not frost tender. It is in flower from June to July. The species is hermaphrodite and is pollinated by Bees, insects.
Suitable for: light and medium soils and prefers well-drained soil. Suitable pH: acid, neutral and basic soils and can grow in very alkaline soils.
It cannot grow in the shade. It prefers moist soil.
