Apios americana is a PERENNIAL growing to 1.2 m .
It is hardy to zone 3. It is in leaf from April to November, in flower from June to September. The species is hermaphrodite and is pollinated by Insects.
It can fix Nitrogen.
Suitable for: light and medium soils and prefers well-drained soil. Suitable pH: acid, neutral and basic soils and can grow in very acid soils.
It can grow in semi-shade or no shade. It prefers moist soil.
