Cedrus atlantica is an evergreen Tree growing to 25 m by 10 m at a medium rate.
It is hardy to zone 6. It is in leaf all year, in flower in September, and the seeds ripen from October to December. The species is monoecious and is pollinated by Wind.
Suitable for: light , medium and heavy soils and prefers well-drained soil. Suitable pH: acid, neutral and basic soils and can grow in very alkaline soils.
It cannot grow in the shade. It prefers dry or moist soil and can tolerate drought. The plant can tolerates strong winds but not maritime exposure.
It can tolerate atmospheric pollution.

HabitatsUpper slopes of the Atlas mountains where there is little or no rain in the growing season but the soil is fed by the melting snow from the peaks above.
