Cucurbita maxima is a ANNUAL CLIMBER growing to 0.6 m by 5 m at a fast rate.
It is hardy to zone 9 and is frost tender. It is in flower from July to September, and the seeds ripen from August to October. The species is monoecious and is pollinated by Insects. The plant is self-fertile.
Suitable for: light , medium and heavy soils and prefers well-drained soil. Suitable pH: acid and neutral soils. It can grow in semi-shade or no shade. It prefers moist soil.
