Linum usitatissimum is a ANNUAL growing to 0.7 m by 0.2 m .
It is hardy to zone 4 and is not frost tender. It is in flower from June to July, and the seeds ripen from August to September. The species is hermaphrodite and is pollinated by Insects. The plant is self-fertile.
Suitable for: light and medium soils and prefers well-drained soil. Suitable pH: acid, neutral and basic soils. It cannot grow in the shade. It prefers moist soil. The plant can tolerates strong winds but not maritime exposure.
