Uredinia hypophyllous, scattered or irregularly grouped, round or sub-round, 0.3-0.8 mm diameter, early naked, pulvinate, finally pulverulent, orange-yellow, pale-yellow;paraphyses clavate, 34-70 x 7-16 µm, erect or incurved, wall smooth, colourless, uniformly thin, 1 µm;urediniospores subglobose, obovate, pyriform, ellipsoid or irregularly ellipsoid, 18-30 x 13-21 µm;walls 1.5 µm thick, densely and coarsely echinulate, inconspicuous or smooth at the base;contents orange-yellow or pale-yellow. Telia hypophyllous, scattered or gregarious, round or ellipsoid, 0.2-0.7 mm diameter, subpulvinate, early naked, reddish-brown;teliospores cylindrical, (1-)2-3(-5)-septate, 38-106 x 18-28 µm, rounded at the apex, rounded or somewhat attenuate at the base, not or slightly constricted at the septum, two or three germ pores in each cell, walls 2-3 µm, pale yellow-brown, with three to five rows of warts, pedicels sub-hyaline, persistent, 20-114 x 10-16 µm, 1-septate, not hygroscopic. Impact

There is little published information on this plant pathogenic fungus, which is limited to parts of Asia. It infects Rubus spp., which exist in other regions of the world with similar environmental conditions, therefore this species may pose a threat to native or agricultural plants if introduced.
