Recognize the problem
The first sign of the disease is the oozing of the bark. This is followed
progressively by the development of cankers on the trunk, rotting and
blackening of the bark, the splitting of the trunk, and the drying and curling of
twigs and branches. Finally, the leaves are shed from the tree.
