It is hardy to zone 8 and is not frost tender. It is in flower in July, and the seeds ripen in August. The species is hermaphrodite and is pollinated by Bees. The plant is self-fertile.
It is noted for attracting wildlife.
Suitable for: light and medium soils and prefers well-drained soil. Suitable pH: acid, neutral and basic soils. It cannot grow in the shade. It prefers dry or moist soil.
