Measure 10 kg of legume seed.
Place in a plastic container that will
accommodate the seeds. Dissolve gum Arabic in the sachet in
100mls of warm water. Allow the gum
Arabic solution to cool down before
using.
Open the inoculant sachet, sprinkle
on the moistened seeds and mix
thoroughly, ensuring that all the
seeds are effectively covered with
the inoculant. Protect the inoculated seed from
direct sunlight by covering the
container with paper, cloth or gunny
bag and keep in the shade until
planted.

Important:
•
Use the right inoculant for the right legume. For instance, do not apply\
bean inoculant on soybean seed.
• Inoculant contains living organisms that must be protected from heat and sun. Therefore always store the package in a
cool place away from direct sunlight (e.g. in a clay pot in the coolest place in the house).
• Use them quickly after opening bag. The remaining inoculant should not be saved for use in another day.
• Always store inoculants in their original package.
• Seeds should be coated with inoculant just before planting.
• Do not use inoculant after its sell-by date, as the inoculant may then not be effective anymore.
